Liberation is the story of the United States’ secret plot to use fake news to take down Guatemala’s democracy in the early 1950s. With new tools and revelations at our disposal, we now know how the U.S. employed a media manipulation playbook that’s eerily similar to the one used against the U.S. in 2016.
